There is no shortage of good restaurants in Aspen Snowmass, but finding the perfect bar and cocktail can be tricky. Whether you want to meet up with a good friend, take out a new lover, or just enjoy a drink to yourself while you watch the snowfall, here are some of our favorites.
Jerome J Bar
The Jerome is the oldest hotel in town and was taken over a few years ago by Auberge Resorts. Typically when a big conglomerate takes over a historical property like The Jerome, I’m naturally a bit hesitant and fearful that they will take some of the lifeblood out of our community. This is not the case -- they provided a remarkable facelift to the entire property and they have kept the spirit of The J Bar alive. It’s the perfect place for a cold Guinness, vodka martini, or a whiskey neat.
Jerome Living Room
2/2 for The Jerome. The Living Room is their upscale cocktail lounge and it is by far and away the most beautiful bar in Aspen. It captures the old west with rich leathers, vintage American flags, and a gorgeous bar with a fire roasting in the background. They charge for the experience, but it is well worth it.
Mi Chola
More of a local’s scene, this Mexican bar is the perfect place if you’re looking to grab a casual bite or watch a game.
Betula
Great date spot with phenomenal cocktails and the owners left no detail left unturned. Aesthetically it resembles a Malibu or West Palm and always has great energy.
Silver City
A great local dive bar that has Coors banquet and most nights has some sort of live music. They also have one pool table in the back that is free and usually open.
Eric’s
I have spent more time here than I care to share. This is more times than not the late-night bar, but it does offer a great atmosphere to have a drink and either play pool, shuffleboard or have a cigar in their lounge. The staff is also top-notch and always know to help you have a good time.
